Why Use an Animal Chaplain?
Over 70% of households in the United States have at least one companion animal. Our animal companions are part of our families.When they become ill or die, the grief from this loss is just as real as the loss of any other close family member. But too often we feel denied the right to grieve because our feelings are minimized by comments like "it's only a dog" or "it's just a cat." Sentiments like these can further harm us by putting shame on our grief. Animal Chaplains can support you during this process, validating your loss and grief and creating memorial services to honor your beloved animal.
We can help you:
- Discern end-of-life decisions
- Offer your companion a special sendoff as they make their transition
- Create memorial services or funerals
- Craft tangible reminders of your companion animal; for example, permanent or portable altars, collages, scrapbooks, and other memorials
- Celebrate milestones such as births, adoptions, birthdays, blessings, and naming ceremonies

As an ordained Animal Chaplain, I can support you and your animal companions from birth to death and everything in-between. And through my background as an ordained inter-faith minister, I practice deep listening and caring companionship.

I meet my clients where they are right now. Even though I am a chaplain, I respect all faith traditions and those with no such tradition. Able to work both in secular and spiritual spaces, I have a very client-oriented approach. I am here to support you , your family, and companion animals.
